I was charged for my online order plus an additional $155 for a “pre-authorized charge” that I clearly never authorized. Customer service gave me the run around and told me the money was removed to be sure I had money in my debit to pay for my original order.

Who does that???!!! They said the money removed is not a definitive charge and it’s just a hold and will be put back within 3-5 days.

Today is day 3 and still NOTHING. I will NEVER EVER order from party city again!

I think they do this because after they do it to every customer, its then thousands of dollars held each month that they make interest off of. Even if the money is given back.

The same thing happened to me. I placed an order on Saturday and by Tuesday the extra charge fell off. It’s very frustrating and it makes no sense why they do that when any other place ive ordered from doesn’t do that.
