Learned a lesson that many others on here have apparently already learned - will never touch Party City again. I bought a $40 kid's Halloween costume online, wrong size. Seems like common knowlege in 2016 that any SIZED item bought online from an online store, anywhere, needs to be returnable through a reasonable process, otherwise, why the *** bother to operate online?

Party City's false and misleadingly "simple" return policy (which unfortunately, I believed when I made the purchase, thinking I could just return/exchange if it didn't fit) fails to mention that THEY have to control the shipping return process. Initiated my return weeks before Halloween as required, and the refund on my $40 item, after their BS DHL shipping charge?!? $4-effing-dollars back. Really, $36 to ship it back, hey? I can do it for $6 and get it back before the Halloween deadline.

You'd think someone in Party City middle management would have been told by now - guys, your e-commerce attempt...you're doing it wrong (and it's costing you customers).

Theyโ€™ve been told how wrong it is and how many complaints at store front about e-commerce and the reply. Millions of others will still order this way just for convience. Horrible customer service right from the top.

Can I return an Internet purchase to one of your store locations? For your convenience, you may return your online purchase to any of our Party City store locations. We will gladly accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase with Shipping Receipt or Store Receipt. Returns with the Shipping Receipt: All products, including Online Only products, will be refunded the full purchase price.

Returns without the Shipping Receipt: We are unable to process returns without the Shipping Receipt. If you have misplaced your original Shipping Receipt please click here to request a replacement. Your company is a joke! Bought a costume that didnโ€™t light up.

Called the store not even an hour after purchasing it and they informed me that all sales are final. I asked about an exchange and they told me no. I will never ever buy from party city again. Party City is the ONLY store that Iv ever bought from that wouldnโ€™t except an exchange for an item that didnโ€™t work.

Are we allowed to open the package before purchasing? No! I tell everyone including all my customers not to buy from you. I am a business owner.

So far over 100 people agreed not to buy from Party City. I will keep spreading the word about your wonderful return, exchange policy from one parent to another.

Hope you enjoyed ruining my childโ€™s Halloween. Thanks for nothing.
