I was in the store today in Orange Park Fl. my friend and I were shopping for items for a luau.

In the front of the store are items listed as 50% off, and when we got to the register we expected for the items to be 50% off of the sticker price. The cashier Chris began to say it's off of the MRSP!!, and because I don't work for party city or any other retail organization I asked what is that? He got very rude and stated " I said the MRSP!!!, he then replied I can just get my manager. The young man walked away in the middle of our order and the manager was on another register.

She was able to hear the entire conversation we were having with Chris, she never once acknowledged our concerns. This is not exceptable behavior and I will not support this company again!!!!

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

Trust me lady you are not the only person on this planet who has been confused by the 50% off MSRP tag. At my location we probably have 30 to 40 customers a week come up expecting everything to be half off and then I have to explain to them that it's 50% off the MSRP.

And then I have to end up explaining what MSRP is. There's been many times when I myself is thought why do we even have this tag on here. But I don't make the rules I just follow them. And as for this Chris kid oh boy he would not be sitting at our store much longer if he did that.

Just because a customer doesn't understand something doesn't mean you have to yell at them. I'm usually the first employee to stand up for another employee for having a bad temper about something either they've had a really bad day the last customer before you was aggravating them and they accidentally spewed into you but you know what I don't know this kid so I can't personally State what his problem was that day. So I will not come to this employees defense. Now that was my store I would step forward and say hey I'm sorry he or she was just having a bad day and didn't know what they were saying.

But with that being said I do apologize for your experience at this party city and I do hope that you will return in the future. We're not all crummy employees having crummy days and taking it out on our customers. If there's another Party City nearby in anyway I would suggest you go to that location if the employees at this location have bothered you that bad. I know I would if I went into a Party City and I never work for the company and I was treated like that I wouldn't go to that business anymore I would go to another one and I have plenty to choose from over here.

And I see that party City has actually even responded to this post so just know that they have taken your complaint seriously as they do with every complaint that comes their way. This Chris kid might not even work there anymore.

Im sorry this chris fellow was so rude! Being a team lead, i would have heard that and been there in a hurry.

I would have explained that the MSRP means the Manufacturer's suggested retail price.

Then i would have worked with you on finding something that would have suited your budget, as we have everything withing everyone's budget! Please don't let them ruin party city in your eyes, as there are those of us that want to help you!

Do us all a favor and stop putting misleading sale signs around the store saying 50% off msrp pattern tableware. You know *** well know one would charge $15 for graduation or luau plates.
